The Colorado Avalanche drafted Nathan MacKinnnon first overall back in 2013 to become the face of their franchise and boost them to a perennial playoff contender. Fast forward to 2019, MacKinnon is one of the league’s top players in both points and goals, and has the Avalanche in the thick of the playoff race.
