The league has decided to keep its postseason format just the way it is.

The NHL has decided they will not change the Playoff Format.

After five months without hockey, the NHL qualifying round was not only exciting but exactly what we all needed.

This led to chatter that the NHL might include more teams in the playoffs and go back to reseeding after every round based on the qualifying tournament prior to the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs- but that chatter has been squashed.

The league has decided to keep its postseason format just the way it is.
