The 1980 United States Olympic hockey team, known as the "Miracle on Ice" squad, will reunite in Lake Placid, New York, for the first time since they won gold and earned their nickname by defeating the Soviet Union in the 1980 Winter Games, Lake Placid officials announced on Monday

The 35-year anniversary of the team's 4-3 win will be the first time the team's surviving members – all college players at the time – have come together in Lake Placid since their gold medal victory.

A "Relive the Miracle" ceremony will be held Saturday night in the same arena that held the game. It will conclude with the raising of the jersey of team member Bob Suter, who died of a heart attack last year at the age of 57. Suter was the first member of the team to pass away.

NBC's Hockey Day in America will be broadcasting live from the festivities in Lake Placid as they take place.
