Rapper Kendrick Lamar has named-dropped Los Angeles Lakers star guard Luka Doncic in his new song with Playboi Carti. Lamar, who is from Southern California, likely wanted to make Doncic feel welcome now that he is the newest star in the city.

Doncic is now experiencing what it means to be with the Lakers as it is more than just basketball. The star guard has enjoyed his time with the team so far but there is still a lot of work to be done.

Winning in the city of Los Angeles is unlike anything else and the connection to the fanbase is electric. Lamar understands this so the shout-out to Doncic makes sense to let him know that he is welcome here.

Since coming to the Lakers, Doncic has helped the team become one of the best around the entire NBA. Playing alongside star LeBron James has given this Lakers squad some real firepower, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

But with Doncic on the roster, the Lakers feel that they should be just fine until James can return. The team is fighting for playoff positioning so every single game becomes magnified at this point in the year.
