The Utah Hockey Club are looking forward to the star of their inaugural season, but not before one last addition to the roster. After bringing him to training camp and the preseason on a professional tryout contract, Utah has signed forward Kailer Yamamoto to a full deal.

Yamamoto has signed a one-year, two-way deal with Utah after he played six preseason games with the newest club in the NHL. During his six preseason appearances with Utah, Yamamoto scored three goals.

Utah is looking forward to a successful first season in the NHL after relocating away from the Arizona Coyotes. Yamamoto might not be an everyday NHLer with Utah, but he earned his way into a proper role with the organization.

Yamamoto has 303 NHL games under his belt, mostly played with the Edmonton Oilers. A first round draft pick (22nd overall) of the Oilers in 2017, Yamamoto played 244 games in Edmonton.

Over his 303 games in the NHL, Yamamoto has put up 58 goals and 76 assists for 134 total points.

Yamamoto spent the 2023-24 season with the Seattle Kraken where he scored eight goals and eight assists for 16 points in 590 games.

Utah opens their season at home at the Delta Center on Tuesday against the Chicago Blackhawks.
