The Maserati MSG Formula E team has unveiled its new driver lineup for the upcoming eleventh season, with Stoffel Vandoorne and Jake Hughes joining the team. They will replace Maximilian Guenther and Jehan Daruvala.

Hughes' departure from his FE team, NEOM McLaren, was announced on Monday morning. Shortly after, it was revealed that he would join Maserati MSG Racing for his third FE season. Hughes will team up with Vandoorne, marking a new chapter in his Formula E career.

Hughes expressed his happiness in joining one of the founding teams in FE, with whom he has worked in the past. Emphasizing that the best is yet to come, the British driver said in a statement, as quoted by GP Blog:

"I’m over the moon to be joining Maserati MSG Racing. The success that the team has had, as one of the founding teams in Formula E, speaks for itself. On a personal level, I have worked with the team previously so I know them well and I’m genuinely looking forward to going back. I know that the season has only just finished but I honestly can’t wait to get over to the HQ in Monaco and start working with the engineers, get on the simulator and really get cracking with our prep for Season 11. This marks the start of an exciting new chapter in my career, and I know that the best is yet to come."

Vandoorne, on the other hand, makes his move to Maserati MSG Racing after racing for two seasons with the DS Penske FE team. The former McLaren Formula 1 driver joined DS Penske following a championship-winning stint with Mercedes, which withdrew from FE after Season 8. The Belgian driver, who enters his seventh season in the electric racing class, said in a statement:

"I’m very happy to be joining Maserati MSG Racing next season and I’m proud to be associated with such an iconic name within motorsport as Maserati."
