The Iowa Speedway saw a dramatic turn today as the NTT IndyCar Series race concluded with a harrowing accident in Turn 2. This mishap occurred almost simultaneously as racer Will Power triumphed, crossing the finish line to clinch victory after a grueling 250 laps. The crash involved four drivers, each battling fiercely as the race neared its conclusion.

Sting Ray Robb of A.J. Foyt Racing initiated the sequence that led to the multi-car pileup. Attempting to evade a slower-moving car, Robb steered left but collided with another vehicle. The impact sent his car airborne, performing barrel rolls before landing upside down—an alarming sight for all in attendance. Remarkably, Robb remained awake and alert following the ordeal and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for further assessment.

Caught in the ensuing chaos were Alexander Rossi of Arrow McLaren and Kyle Kirkwood of Andretti Global. Rossi’s slower pace contributed to the sequence of collisions. Kirkwood offered insight into the crash dynamics, noting:

“He’s pretty much like a parachute when you’re sitting perpendicular to the road. When I lifted out of the throttle in the corner, I suddenly spun myself.”

Ed Carpenter, both a driver and owner of Ed Carpenter Racing, experienced the impact firsthand as his vehicle collided with Rossi's and ultimately landed atop Kirkwood’s car. Reflecting on the incident, Carpenter shared his frustration:

"I’m fine. Just angry. I knew Alex was off pace up ahead. My spotter told me a few laps before. It looks like Sting Ray misjudged the closing rate somehow, even though it was clear Alex was slow. And then I spun trying to get down. Just a shame. Two days in a row. Two accidents that I was just a victim of. I just hate it for the for the team. Brutal.” Fortunately, Carpenter was checked and released by IndyCar Medical, confirming his physical well-being despite the distressing turn of events.
