IndyCar Rumor: Several Teams Target Formula 1 Driver For 2025 Seat
Sauber Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas is reportedly in talks with several IndyCar teams for a seat in 2025.
Recent speculation has linked the Finnish driver with a potential return to his roots at the Williams F1 team. However, reports have also begun to emerge connecting Bottas to several teams within IndyCar.
In a candid moment with the media during the British Grand Prix weekend, Bottas expressed his anticipation over the ongoing negotiations. He commented:
“I feel like things are starting to progress and get closer, I think in a good way, hopefully. But, still have nothing to announce here and nothing has been signed but progressing.
“I think I’m in a good position. Some people in the paddock still, luckily, know what I can do, what are my strengths to be part of a team. But it takes time finalising things to be 100% confident.
“It’s not frustrating. It’s actually exciting. I mean, it’s part of the sport and we’re actually still in July. I’ve been in this situation before that I’ve had to wait until September or October.
“So, I think we’re still in a decent situation.
“If you would ask me in October, if we’re in this situation, then it may be starting to get frustrating, but in July, not really.”
With the IndyCar option on the table and his F1 future hanging in the balance, Bottas faces a decision that could redefine his racing path. Williams driver Logan Sargeant has also been linked with a move to IndyCar next year as uncertainty continues to increase about his future in Formula One.
