Following the British MotoGP sprint race, Jorge Martin shared details behind the technical issues that hampered his performance during the Sprint Race at Silverstone.

Jorge Martin's struggle during the race came down to several key issues beginning with an unexpected change to his bike's engine map.

"I had some issues with the fuel consumption. I had to put the second map or the b map in the second lap," Martin noted. "This didn't help to attack. I had less power so I didn't have my 100% of the package. I think, tomorrow with a normal situation we come back," he added.

The challenges didn't stop there. Martin also pointed out flaws in his qualifying strategy that further complicated his race day. He chose to wait for a clear track to avoid towing other riders, a decision that led to his tires cooling down excessively, ultimately affecting his pace.

"Maybe the strategy wasn't right. Waiting for the second stint with a lot of riders wasn't the best choice," Martin admitted. "It was difficult with a lot of riders in the middle of the track waiting a lot. It was a bit dangerous because the tyres get cold and then the second stint I couldn't push. It was a mistake."

Reflecting on his tire choice, Martin revealed his decision to opt for medium front tires initially, which he believed to be the best option at the start. However, in hindsight, he would have chosen a different compound.

"I was completely sure that medium was my option. The hard one was really on the limit. I think Aprilia struggled quite a lot with the medium that's why they didn't put. But now if I had to choose for the sprint I would choose the hard.

"I was on the limit at the end of the race. I couldn't brake hard. Enea was much stronger."
