In honor of MotoGP's 75th anniversary at this weekend's 2024 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, each of the 11 teams will flaunt their commemorative liveries. These retro designs, inspired by classic seasons from the sport's storied past, will showcase the rich history and evolution of MotoGP through visually striking and nostalgic tributes.

All teams have embraced a nostalgic aesthetic going back to the golden age of racing legends. Each outfit proudly showcases historical designs and colors, evoking the rich heritage of the sport and paying tribute to the iconic eras that shaped its legacy. These retro liveries not only celebrate the past but also weave a compelling and inspirational narrative of each team's storied history.

Red Bull GasGas Tech 3

Starting with Red Bull's GasGas Tech 3 team, Pedro Acosta and Augusto Fernandez will ride the GasGas KTM team's bike, featuring a tribute to the original KTM machinery. This design offers a modern twist on the classic look, celebrating the storied history of KTM's racing legacy.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing

The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team has drawn inspiration for its 75th-anniversary design from the KTM LC4, their first racing machine from 1988. The original bike was developed by Wolfgang Felber, now KTM’s Vice President of Road Racing Technology. Jack Miller and Brad Binder will showcase this tribute livery on Sunday’s Grand Prix.

Gresini Racing MotoGP

For Gresini Racing MotoGP, Alex and Marc Marquez will sport the ‘il Tricolore’ livery for Silverstone’s 75th-anniversary race. This design pays homage to Fausto Gresini's iconic colors from his 1985 and 1987 125cc World Championship-winning seasons. Complementing the retro theme, Marc will don a minimalist, eighties-inspired helmet design for the event.

 Trackhouse Racing

The Trackhouse Racing team got creative with its retro livery in its debut MotoGP season, drawing on its American heritage to craft a homage design. Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez will showcase this livery on Sunday, which honors 11 American Premier Class race winners, including Pat Henna, Kenny Roberts Sr. & Jr., Randy Mamola, Freddie Spencer, Eddie Lawson, Kevin Schwantz, Wayne Rainey, John Kocinski, Nicky Hayden, and Ben Spies, who collectively boast 154 GP wins and 15 world titles.

Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing

The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing team has chosen a design emblematic of Valentino Rossi's illustrious 22-year career – the Sole Luna, meaning sun and moon. The VR46 Ducati GP23s, to be ridden by Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi at Silverstone, will specifically honor Rossi's 2018 helmet design. Additionally, Di Giannantonio will sport a #46 tribute helmet to further commemorate the MotoGP legend.

Aprilia Racing

Aprilia Racing's Maverick Vinales and Aleix Espargaro will showcase an iconic livery at Sunday’s celebratory Grand Prix. Drawing inspiration from the brand’s storied success in junior categories, the team has chosen the Perla Nera or ‘Black Pearl’ livery. This design pays tribute to Max Biaggi's dominance, as he clinched a trio of 250cc World Championships in 1994, 1995, and 1996.

Prima Pramac Racing

Prima Pramac Racing's Franco Morbidelli and Jorge Martín will honor a legendary figure in the sport by riding in colors inspired by Angel Nieto’s 1983 125cc title-winning bike. This tribute also carries personal significance, as Nieto is the uncle of Pramac’s current Sporting Director, Fonsi Nieto.

Ducati Lenovo

Reigning champion Pecco Bagnaia and his teammate Enea Bastianini from the Ducati Lenovo Team will sport a livery inspired by the Ducati Desmosedici GP3, which marked the brand’s inaugural season in the premier class in 2003. That year, Troy Bayliss and Loris Capirossi represented Ducati, with Capirossi securing the brand’s first MotoGP win at the Catalan Grand Prix. Additionally, Bastianini will wear a special edition helmet inspired by the legendary Mike Hailwood.

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP

The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team will showcase the iconic red and white speed block livery, a fan favorite first introduced in 1964. Gaining fame with riders like Jarno Saarinen and Giacomo Agostini in the 1970s, it was last seen at Assen in 2011. For the 75th-anniversary Grand Prix, Fabio Quartararo, Alex Rins, and wildcard Remy Gardner will proudly don this storied design.

LCR Honda

The LCR Honda riders are each donning unique retro liveries. Johann Zarco’s bike features a contemporary reinterpretation of Mike Hailwood’s 1966 250cc World Championship-winning design. Meanwhile, Takaaki Nakagami’s livery pays tribute to both Japanese heritage and the team’s sponsor, Idemitsu.

Repsol Honda

Lastly, the Repsol Honda retro livery will stir nostalgic emotions among MotoGP purists, evoking memories of one of the sport’s most thrilling title battles. Inspired by Freddie Spencer’s 1983 500cc machine, the livery commemorates his narrow victory over Kenny Roberts Sr., which earned him the premier class title at just 21 years old.
