Enea Bastianini emerged victorious at the 2024 British MotoGP at Silverstone, a landmark moment that marked his triumph in both the sprint race and the Grand Prix during the 75th Anniversary weekend. This double win significantly bolsters his standings in the 2024 season.

"I'm so happy about the results of this weekend for me," Bastianini said. "I have thought a lot in this summer break to understand where it was possible to do something more," he explained.

Bastianini pinpointed his previous struggles with starting positions in races as a crucial aspect that was hindering his performance. "But every time, starting from behind, I missed many times the time attack. During this weekend the approach for the time attack was good."

Saturday and Sunday witnessed Bastianini clinching his first victories in the sprint and main races respectively, encapsulating a perfect racing weekend.

"Yesterday was my first victory in the sprint and today in the real race. I'm very happy to win the 75th Anniversary Grand Prix," he recounted.

Despite his recent achievements, Bastianini remains cautious about his chances for the title.

"For the moment, I don't think I'm a title contender. Pecco and Jorge have demonstrated more consistency than me in every race and these two riders are always on top," he stated modestly. However, he holds aspirations to escalate his performances: "Sometimes I have felt something but been behind. If I want to be a title contender I have to improve in that direction."

Looking forward, Bastianini has expressed his intent to maintain his upward trajectory through the championship season.

"I want to continue like this for the rest of the championship. If at the end of the championship I have this opportunity, we will see."

On a technical note, Bastianini shared insights into his future with a switch from Ducati to KTM on the horizon. Despite some initial uncertainty about the new equipment, he seemed hopeful:

"About KTM, I think it will be a good bike for me but I haven't tried this bike, and if you don't try you cannot explain what's the strongest point compared to the Ducati."

The departure from Ducati followed a trace of confusion and disappointment over the team's strategic decisions, particularly concerning the brand's choice to back Marquez over himself and Martin. "I don't understand Ducati's choice because they have lost two riders like me and Jorge," he lamented, though he quickly added, "But I respect this decision."
