Rimac Automobili recently erased all its social media posts after it accidentally leaked a pixelated image of a new hypercar ahead of its launch. Fans were quick to connect the dots and view the car, forcing the Croatian manufacturer to delete the post from all its social media accounts.

The company's official website currently features a pixelated image, with over 40,000 pixels yet to be unveiled. The automaker has announced that each comment on their social media posts, as well as every share on individual feeds, will reveal an additional pixel, gradually uncovering the new image.

The image provides a clear hint about Rimac’s latest development. With its distinctive silhouette closely resembling the Nevera, it’s evident that this new model is a familiar evolution. Could this be the much-anticipated Nevera Nur?

The new car looks like a version packing higher downforce than the 2023 Nevera, which already made headlines for its impressive performance. It set several mind-blowing records, including accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.74 seconds, a top speed of 258 MPH going forward, and 171.34 MPH in reverse.

A growing trend among automakers is a renewed interest in internal combustion engines, even as electric vehicles become more prevalent. Rimac CEO Mate Rimac confirmed this shift in May, revealing that the next Rimac model might not follow the electric path.

When Rimac started developing the Nevera over seven years ago, electric vehicles were seen as a novel concept. Since then, global regulations have made electric power a necessity rather than a luxury, diminishing the exclusivity of all-electric hypercars as mainstream EVs have become more common. As reported by Carbuzz.com, here's what the CEO said:

"The regulators and some OEMs push it so much that the narrative has changed. They're pushing stuff on us that we don't want, so people get a little bit repulsed by it, this forced application. I'm always against it. I think everything has to be based on merit. So the product has to be better."

With the comments coming nearly two months ago, it seems unlikely that the team would launch a non-electric car so soon. As per this report, the new car speculated to be the Nevera Nur, would be more brutal than the Nevera Time Attack. The rear wing's endplates imply substantial downforce, which likely means additional aerodynamic adjustments at the front are being made to ensure balanced performance.

Although the social media campaign hints at a random reveal, its timing aligns with Monterey Car Week from August 9-18. A high-downforce variant of the Croatian EV might be on the horizon, potentially poised to shatter a series of world records. Given its likely designation and the inclusion of 'Nur' in its name, this model is poised to push boundaries even further.
