No athlete's career has ever ended the way they wanted. Father Time is undefeated and often takes most athletes down with injuries. However, Andy Murray does not see defeat; therefore, he cannot lose.

Murray played his final match on Thursday at Roland Garros. He and Daniel Evans came up short against Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul in the Olympics quarterfinals: 6-2, 6-4.

It was well known that this was Murray's final season on tour before a back injury took him down before Wimbledon. It was announced that the 2024 Paris Olympics would be the last tournament of his legendary career.

Murray handled his final match with total class. He told media, "It was a brilliant final tournament. It would have been amazing to have won a medal. But I feel good. I'm happy with how it's finished. I'm glad that I got to go out here at the Olympics and finish on my terms because, at times in the last few years, that wasn't a certainty."

However, it was Murray's social media post that will be most memorable. He posted on X, formerly Twitter, "Never even liked tennis anyway." The 37-year-old also updated his X bio to read, "I played tennis."

Murray did more than play tennis; he won three Grand Slam titles. More importantly, the fan-favorite will be remembered for his friendly demeanor and unrelenting sportsmanship.
