Wimbledon is known for its uptight dress code and old-school style, but that does not mean the iconic grass court tournament lacks fun. On Wednesday, Carlos Alcaraz and Frances Tiafoe exchanged trash talk ahead of their third-round match at Wimbledon.

Earlier in the day, Tiafoe defeated Borna Coric in straight sets: 7-6(5), 6-1, 6-3. Tiafoe is looking more like his old self on the court. He is dominating the competition and talking some trash.

After his match, Tiafoe was asked about the prospects of facing Alcaraz in the third round. Tiafoe did not hold back, "I hope he [Alcaraz] wins because I want to go for him."

It did not take long for Alcaraz to beat Aleksandar Vukic: 7-6(5), 6-2, 6-2. After the match, the World No. 2 was asked about Tiafoe's comments. Alcaraz said with a sly smile, "I'm coming for him."

It is all in good fun between Alcaraz and Tiafoe, as the two friends share a healthy level of respect for each other. However, that does take away from Tiafoe's comments earlier this week, which landed him in hot water.

After his first-round match on Monday, Tiafoe lamented, "Literally this week last year, I was 10 in the world, and now I'm barely seeded here, losing to clowns."

Alcaraz is certainly no clown, nor would Tiafoe ever call him one. The two friends are scheduled to face in the third round of Wimbledon on Friday. Tennis fans can follow Sports Illustrated's Serve on SI for all the most important news from the sport.
