Coco Gauff is quickly blossoming into a global superstar. Everything from the New Balance marketing campaigns to her spectacular play on the tennis court makes the 20-year-old a fan favorite.

Despite her popularity, Gauff was nervous about her match today at Wimbledon. The World No. 2 easily defeated Sonay Kartal in straight sets: 6-4, 6-0.

The third round match was over in less than an hour, and gave Gauff her 35th win of the year. After the match, Gauff spoke from Centre Court about her nerves going into the match.

"I think this is my first time playing a British player here. I was a little nervous, honestly. I knew you guys would be for her, which is understandable."

She acknowledged that is normal, as she plays better when in the United States. Gauff continued, "I knew coming in today, she had nothing to lose. I had a lot of pressure. So I was just trying to stay relaxed. Thankfully, you guys are pretty nice to me. So that helped"

Gauff concluded her remarks by praising the Wimbledon fans for always being very respectful and engaged.

Gauff is scheduled to play World No. 19 Emma Navarro in the fourth round on Saturday. Tennis fans can follow Sports Illustrated's Serve on SI for all the most important news from the sport.
