Emma Raducanu has been the comeback story of the year in tennis. One year after undergoing three surgeries, the Grand Slam champion was back on the court at Wimbledon.

Lulu Sun defeated Raducana in three sets during the fourth round of Wimbledon's women's singles tournament. After her defeat on Sunday, Raducana was asked about a mild controversy from earlier in the week.

Raducana was supposed to play with Andy Murray in the mixed doubles tournament. However, she had to withdraw after waking up with soreness in her wrist.

The decision did not come easy for Raducanu, who was a lifelong fan of Murray. By pulling out of the mixed doubles draw, it ended Murray's last run at Wimbledon.

Judy Murray, Andy's mother, described Raducana's withdrawal as "astonishing" on social media. Judy would later clarify she was being sarcastic.

When asked about the social media post, Raduana said, "I haven't seen her reaction. So I don't know." Taking the high road and avoid controvery, Raducanu added, "I'm sure she didn't mean it."

Raducana stood by her decision to focus on her singles tournament. She also added closure on the sitatuation with Murray.

"'I stand by my decision. Of course, I didn't want to take his last match away from him, but at the end of the day, a lot of the players in similar situations would have done a similar thing."

When asked how Murray took the news, Raducanu said, "[He was] obviously disappointed because it was his last match. Hopefully, he'll play in the Olympics and have another farewell there."
