Carlos Alcaraz suffered a shocking defeat to Jack Draper in the second round of the Queen's Club Championships (also known as the cinch Championships).

The 21-year-old phenom entered Thursday's second-round match against Draper with the wind at his back. Alcaraz had won eight consecutive matches, including the French Open title.

However, the transition from clay to grass was not as smooth Alcaraz would have liked as he suffered a shocking defeat to the 22-year-old Draper. Alcaraz, the defending Queen's champion and top seed, lost to Draper 7-6 (3), 6-3.

Conversely, it was the biggest win in Draper's promising career. The top-ranked British player showed out in front of the home crowd in London. Following the match, the 22-year-old recognized his 80-year-old grandfather and family in the crowd.

"I knew I had to come out here and play really well, and luckily I did that," said Draper. Today's win extends Draper's hot streak to a 7-match winning streak. He will face fifth-seeded Tommy Paul in the quarterfinals on Friday, June 21.

Meanwhile, Alcaraz will not have much preparation on grass courts before he looks to defend his Wimbledon title in just 11 days. Last year he ramped up for Wimbledon by winning the Queen's Club Championships.
