Jannik Sinner defeated Ben Shelton in straight sets, but the fourth round matchup was no walk in the park for either player. Shelton dropped the first set as he had done in his previous three matches, but then turned up the heat on the World No. 1.

Sinner eventually took the match: 6-2, 6-4, 7-6(9) to reach the quarterfinals at Wimbledon for the third straight year. Meanwhile, Shelton goes home, having advanced further than he ever had before at the All England Club.

The highlight of the match might have been Sinner's between-the-legs shot leading to a crucial moment in the third set. After the match, Sinner said, "That was just luck. Nothing to talk. Sometimes… I don't know what to say honestly."

Sinner's play has often left many fans and fellow players speechless. The 22-year-old is 42-3 this year and continues to improve throughout the season. Sinner will face World No. 5 Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, July 9.

After Medvedev defeated Grigor Dimitrov, he said he needed to play his best tennis against Sinner. Adding, "I’m gonna try to play my best tennis. It’s the first time we meet on grass. It’ll be an interesting battle. I’ll go there and give my 100%."
