Netflix Hypes Up Tennis Fans By Promoting Carlos Alcaraz Docuseries
At just 21 years old, Carlos Alcaraz is well-positioned to be the next face of tennis. Alcaraz has won four Grand Slams, and there is no other player in his young generation that can match his resume.
After Alcaraz won Wimbledon on Sunday, Netflix used the opportunity to promote his upcoming docuseries. The streaming platform said on social media:
"Good morning to the Wimbledon champ. An all-new documentary series chronicling Carlos Alcaraz's 2024 season is coming to Netflix in 2025!"
While we have known about Alcaraz's docuseries since it was announced in March 2024, it does help grow the hype for the show.
So far, we know the title of the show, Alcaraz, the Docuseries. Also, we know it will air sometime in 2025. Netflix crew began filming during The Netflix Slam and will follow Alcaraz both on and off the court during his 2024 season.
Upon the announcement of the show, Alcaraz said, "I am very happy about this experience with Morena Films and Netflix. People are going to get to watch everything you don't see on a tennis court. I think it's something very different. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I will."
This docuseries comes as welcomed news to tennis fans who were disappointed to learn that Netflix's Break Point was canceled after just two seasons.
It appears that the sport and its partners are consolidating around Alcaraz as its future. Tennis fans can follow Sports Illustrated's Serve on SI for all the most important news from the sport.
