Much to the delight and chagrin of many fans, Taylor Swift is synonymous with football thanks to her relationship with Travis Kelce. But the world's biggest pop star is omnipresent across the sports landscape.

On Monday, Frances Tiafoe defeated Aleksandar Kovacevic in four sets in the first round of the US Open: 6-4, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5. While Tiafoe's game looks airtight, fans are buzzing about his outfit on the court.

Tiafoe rocked a two-tone purple matching tank and short set. His white sweatbands provided a perfect contrast to his black socks. Capitalizing on the social media discussion, the US Open's official X account got off an incredible post.

The US Open shared a picture of Tiafoe celebrating after a point with the caption, "Foe just wants to stay in that lavender haze." The post was a nod to Swift's 2022 song "Lavender Haze." The song title is from a 1950s-dated common phrase for the state of being in love.

That is perfect because it feels like Tiafoe has regained his love for the sport this summer. After a rough start and a coaching change, the 26-year-old has been on fire. He pushed Carlos Alcaraz to the brink at Wimbledon and narrowly lost to Jannik Sinner in the Cincinnati Open Finals.

Tiafoe faces Alexander Shevchenko in the second round of the US Open tomorrow. Tennis fans can follow Sports Illustrated's Serve on SI for all the most important news from the sport.
