Every Grand Slam has its equal share of quirks and redeeming qualities. Perhaps none of the major tennis tournaments offer more of both than Wimbledon.

The iconic grass court tournament is known for its tight rules and dress codes. Every sportswear brand brings its A-game for each Grand Slam. Wimbledon is always boldly circled on the calendar for each company.

Right on time, the two biggest and most popular sportswear brands on the planet have officially launched their new performance apparel for this year's Wimbledon. Our loyal readers can decide who has the better gear this year: adidas or Nike.

Let's start with adidas. Men's players such as Felix Auger-Aliassime, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Alexander Zverev represent adidas on the court. As does Jessica Pegula, Maria Sakkari, and Caroline Wozniacki on the women's side.

Adidas rolled out their Wimbledon collection with a social media post promoting their most popular players. "Focus on the match, focus on you. The new London Collection is here, with AEROREADY technology that makes you feel cool when the heat is on."

Adidas is calling it the "London Collection," and it does not disappoint. The white performance apparel and accessories all feature AEROREADY technology. The collection ranges between $20-$150 on the adidas website.

Meanwhile, Nike is represented by Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Jack Draper, Rafa Nadal, and Frances Tiafoe. On the women's side, Nike has Paula Badosa, Katie Boulter, Madison Keys, Naomi Osaka, Emma Raducanu, and Aryna Sabalenka.

Despite having a monopoly on the world's top-ranked players, Nike has done little advertising of its limited Wimbledon collection. The brand's all-white apparel, accessories, and footwear range from $70-$140. Online shoppers can check out the performance gear on the Nike website.

Adidas and Nike certainly are not the only brands represented on the grass courts of Wimbledon, so fans can stay locked into Sports Illustrated's Serve on SI for more news throughout the tournament.
