Over three months ago, Coco Gauff became the first U.S. tennis player to clinch an Olympic spot. This is truly great news for the country's top-ranked tennis player, as Gauff missed the 2021 Summer Olympics after testing positive for Covid-19.

There is no doubt that Gauff will light up the clay courts in Paris with her exciting play style and personality. Additionally, it will provide the 20-year-old phenom with an opportunity to market herself to a global audience.

New Balance is already gearing up for Gauff's big moment by dropping her signature tennis shoes in a patriotic red, white, and blue colorway. Below is a detailed look and breakdown of the New Balance Coco CG1 "Star-Studded" colorway.

The New Balance Coco CG1 "Star-Studded" hit shelves last week. Athletes and fans can buy the performance tennis shoes for $170 in adult sizes on the New Balance website.

The "Star-Studded" colorway sports a True Red upper with NB Navy detailing. Stars appear on the shoe midsole, while stripes act as lace locks on the lateral sides. Gauff's signature provides the finishing touches on the tongues.

Gauff posted a picture of the patriotic tennis shoes to her Instagram story last week. She said, "Inspired by olympic spirit Paris color way goes crazyyyy."

It has been two years since New Balance launched Gauff's first signature tennis shoe, and the tech specs still hold up. The New Balance Coco CG1 features a multi-piece upper construction outfitted with bold color blocking.

Meanwhile, FuelCell cushioning and Energy Arc technology provide dynamic responsiveness. The mesh and NDure forefoot provide a lightweight but supportive lockdown fit.

Gauff recently finished playing at the 2024 French Open, and during her time in Paris, she teamed up with New Balance on multiple events. It is very likely that the two teammates pick up where they left off earlier this month. Fans can follow Sports Illustrated for all news, highlights, and interviews from the tennis world.
