Chelsea fans have hailed the performance of Mykhailo Mudryk against Panathinaikos in the Conference League.

The Ukrainian was handed a start on the left after being left out of Chelsea's squad to face Liverpool on Sunday.

Enzo Maresca admitted that Mudryk has been doing well in training but the decision to leave him at loan when his side travelled to Anfield was a 'technical' one.

Mudryk knew that he'd have to play well to impress the head coach when the Blues faced Panathinaikos on Thursday, and it is not just Maresca that he has impressed.

The winger set up Joao Felix's opener with a fantastic bit of play before finding his team-mate to set up an easy tap-in for him. Mudryk also added his own goal, heading home a Pedro Neto cross in the second half.

Several Chelsea fans have taken to social media to heap praise on Mudryk for his goalscoring performance against the Greek side.

Taking to X, one fan described Mudryk's performance as 'phenomenal', while another called him 'top class'.

One Chelsea supporter continued to expand on his point, stating: "(That was the) best performance from Misha in a Blue shirt! Great to see. Hope he keeps it up!"

This sentiment was supported by another one of the Blues faithful, who praised the winger.

"He was so sharp and performed so well ready to fight back for he starting spot," they wrote.

Another happy Chelsea fan suggested that the Ukrainian has done enough to earn a place in Maresca's starting XI to face Newcastle United this weekend.

They said: "He should start against Newcastle ahead of Sancho".

It remains to be seen as to whether Maresca will reward Mudryk with a start in the Premier League. With games coming thick and fast, Mudryk will most likely be handed the opportunity to face Newcastle.

Chelsea face the Magpies on Sunday at Stamford Bridge before travelling to St James' Park to face Eddie Howe's side in the Carabao Cup, where many of the team who started against Panathinaikos are likely to start.
