Over the years, Liverpool have not really entered the market in South America in search of the best-rising talent.

Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr and Gabriel Martinelli, just to name a few, always seem to be linked with the Reds once they have already made the step up in Europe.

There have been calls for Liverpool to be more proactive when it comes to scouting in South America, however, if we're going off recent youth successes at Anfield, most of them have been picked up from England.

Trey Nyoni, Amara Nallo, Rio Ngumoha and even Harvey Elliott have all been signed from Premier League clubs and they are all very highly-rated youngsters with very bright futures.

With that in mind, a report from Brazilian outlet Nosso Palmeiras, via Sport Witness, has claimed that Arne Slot's side are weighing up a move for Palmeiras centre-back Vitor Reis.

The 18-year-old has garnered interest from Premier League sides Arsenal and Tottenham already, with recent reports also stating that Real Madrid have begun enquiring too.

Even if Liverpool are interested in the Brazilian, a move is not going to be made easy by Palmeiras, who have just recently sold Endrick to Real Madrid for €47million and Estêvão to Chelsea for €34million.

Furthermore, Reis currently has a €100million release clause in his contract, meaning the Brazilian side hold all of the cards and will make sure they get their money's worth if they do decide to sell the centre-back.

This is definitely one to keep an eye on for in the future as Liverpool could decide to sign a highly-rated raw youngster soon with a vision of them becoming Virgil van Dijk's long-term replacement.
