Mohamed Salah In Talks With Champions League Club Over Free Transfer Next Summer
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah made the headlines once again after providing a fresh update on his future at the club after helping the Reds secure a 2-0 win at home to Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
The 32-year-old is out of contract at the end of the current season and recently disclosed that he is yet to be offered a new deal. Asked about his contract situation after Man City victory, Salah told Sky Sports: "Honestly, it's in my head. Until now this is the last City game I will play for Liverpool so I was just going to enjoy it.
"The atmosphere was incredible so I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully, we just win the league and will see what will happen."
Salah provided an assist for Cody Gakpo's goal before scoring a second-half penalty as Liverpool picked up all three points and extended their lead at the top of the table. Arne Slot's side are now nine points clear ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea who are second and third respectively in the standings and 11 adrift of Pep Guardiola's side.
Mohamed Salah has been in fine form for Liverpool this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists in 20 appearances across all competitions. He will be free to pen terms on a pre-contract deal with any foreign club from January 1 alongside captain Virgil van Dijk and vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold.
According to French outlet L'Equipe, Salah has opened the door to a move to Paris Saint-Germain next summer after holding talks with the reigning Ligue 1 champions. PSG are yet to replace Kylian Mbappe who left the club for Real Madrid last summer on a free transfer and have identified Salah as his replacement following his outstanding goalscoring exploits.
The report further claims that Luis Enrique's side are currently in the market for a winger after failing to secure the signing of Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho. Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams was also linked with a move to Les Parisiens. Salah has been a long-time target for PSG and they could sign him for free next summer.
Liverpool are, however, desperate to keep hold of the Egypt international but an agreement is yet to be reached by both parties.
