Caitlin Clark Leads Angel Reese in WNBA Rookie Rankings

The WNBA rookie class continues to impress. Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky just set the record for most consecutive double-doubles in a season and Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever fell one rebound short of becoming the only player in league history to record a triple-double as a rookie. Both would be deserving of winning WNBA Rookie of the Year in any normal season but of course only one can take home the hardware. Here's a look at the top five rookies in the W at this moment.

5. Kamilla Cardoso

Don't be surprised if Cardoso continues to move up this list. The third pick in the WNBA Draft by the Sky possesses a unique combination of size and coordination, along with really good hands. Cardoso is bumped down a bit because she started playing later in the year than her peers, but her production has been steady. Though she has struggled finishing in her most recent outings.

4. Rickea Jackson

Jackson has proven to be both a prolific and efficient scorer for the Los Angeles Sparks. Her role is likely to only increase, especially with fellow rookie Cameron Brink sidelined for the season with a knee injury. But Rickea appears up for the task having scored in double figures in four of the last six contests, often on over 50% shooting.

3. Aaliyah Edwards

Edwards held her own going up against Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson. Wilson had her worst scoring output of the season with Aaliyah as her primary defender. Edwards is also off to an efficient start offensively for the Washington Mystics, as she plays at her own pace.

2. Angel Reese

Angel has been an absolute monster on the boards for Chicago. Reese now leads the entire WNBA in total rebounds and rebounds per game. Barbie has a motor that never stops, which is the reason she is a walking double-double. Once Reese converts around the basket consistently the league is in trouble.

1. Caitlin Clark

It's impossible to keep Clark from the top spot. Not only has she led the Fever to a 7-4 record this month, but she's done it while filling up the entire box score. Caitlin is in the top 25 in the W in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals with her playmaking and distance shooting proving to be undeniable. CC currently is first in both three-pointers made and assists. Which is why she is in the top 10 when it comes to betting odds for MVP, beyond just Rookie of the Year, where she remains the clear favorite.
