Caitlin Clark Is Still Winning College Awards

Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

Caitlin Clark's time from the NCAA Championship game to now has been such a whirlwind it is easy forget it still hasn't been three months since Iowa lost to South Carolina. So while she has already experienced a season's worth of stories professionally with the Indiana Fever in the WNBA, Clark is continuing to collect college awards.

Clark won the Honda Cup for 2024 Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year, joining Maya Moore as a two-time winner. Of course Caitlin has expressed her admiration for Moore in the past and her Hawkeyes coach Lisa Bluder also compared them stating during the ceremony

"For her, Maya Moore was a huge role model growing up. So now she's the Maya Moore of this generation. And she understands that."

Clark could not be there in person due to the aforementioned Fever schedule, but did accept via Zoom. She credited her college coach and bond with teammates as the reason for Iowa's success.

Citing Bluder, who Clark dubbed the best leader she has been around in her life, Caitlin said "pressure is a privilege". Clark has been privileged enough to be under a lot of it entering the WNBA amidst extensive discussion and scrutiny. So much so that it is easy to forget peers on the men's side haven't even been drafted yet.

Such a quick turnaround is the norm with the W schedule but in Clark's case the time between games was condensed and they were almost all nationally televised. With any space between occupied by debate. Making it hard to remember that Caitlin Clark was just in college.
