The UConn women's basketball team released its 2024-25 non-conference schedule on Tuesday.

Among the most notable games is the Huskies beginning their regular season against Boston University on November 7 at home.

In addition, UConn will be facing North Carolina (who finished 20-13 last season) on neutral ground on November 15, Louisville (who went 24-10 last year) during the Champion's Classic on December 7, star player Hannah Hidalgo and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (who won the ACC Tournament and made it to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen last season), plus top college player JuJu Watkins and the USC Trojans (who UConn beat in the Elite Eight last season) on December 21.

The final non-conference game UConn has scheduled is on February 16 against the defending National Champion South Carolina Gamecocks.

Ever since this schedule was released, the consensus among UConn fans has been the same sentiment: This is an extremely tough slate of games.

"Don’t say Geno ever backed down from a challenge This schedule is touuugghhh (but will prepare UConn to win a title in the long run)." one X user wrote in response to the schedule release.

"Going to be a big test those last six non-conferences games heading into the tournament!" added another X user.

"wow this schedule is um… something! but uconn hoops back soon that’s all that matters," a third fan added.

Despite head coach Geno Auriemma's Huskies squad being ridiculously injury-plagued last season, they still managed to make it to the Final Four before being defeated by Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

With Clark now in the WNBA and his team back healthy, Auriemma is seeking his first NCAA Championship since 2016.

And while this non-conference schedule is certainly daunting, it should prepare UConn for success in both the BIG EAST and the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
