"This record is in great hands." Those were the words of Ticha Penicheiro, who was the record holder for assists in a WNBA rookie season. That until Caitlin Clark passed her mark in recording her 225th assist during the Indiana Fever's game against the Seattle Storm Sunday.

Penicheiro set the record way back in 1998 when playing for the now defunct Sacramento Monarchs. Clark broke it in Indiana's 28th game of the season.

But it is not the only assists record Caitlin has set in her first season. She also already broke the record for most assists in a single WNBA game by any player and is currently tracking to break the all-time mark for assists in a season as well.

Ticha had this to say about what CC accomplished in a Fever social media post. "Super proud of you. I know the work that you put in. A lot of people always talked about your shooting. I was always mesmerized about your passing. Your court vision. And how you make your teammates better...Continue to do what you you do. Continue to elevate your game and the women's game and the WNBA."

Clark's court vision has caught the attention of any basketball fan who has tuned in to watch her play. And given the unprecedented viewership numbers for the W this year, that is a lot of eyeballs.

It is clear that CC will continue to gather records and ratings, as her game has been eye popping thus far in her initial professional campaign. As she has clearly not dropped the ball on the hype, all while dropping plenty of dimes.
