Maya Moore's greatness has been recognized by the other greats of the game.

Not only has Indiana Fever sensation Caitlin Clark been effusive in her praise of the WNBA and Minnesota Lynx legend, dubbing her her basketball idol, but NBA superstar LeBron James also joined in the chorus of praise.

Moore's jersey was raised to the rafters before the Lynx game against the Fever at the Target Center and the moment served as a way for so many to express their admiration for what she accomplished on the court.

James took to X to write, "Congratulations 23! Absolute legend!". LeBron of course knows a thing or two about what it takes to be a legend on the floor and has also worn the iconic number, which was of course popularized by Michael Jordan.

Moore was actually the first female athlete to sign to Jordan Brand. That fact was likely one of several that new fans found out about as Maya's career was given a new appreciation.

Moore's eight WNBA seasons were absolutely stellar. She won four championships, an MVP, and was All-WNBA seven times. Her highlights were also given a new life amid the emotional moment as hoops heads wanted to bask in her big day.

Clark had remarked, "She was the person for me growing up", and it was nice to see Moore get her flowers not only from the explosive women's basketball sensation, but from so many across the basketball world.

Moore was emotional seeing her jersey retired, but also humble about her place in history. She reflected on an anecdote Clark shared about meeting her as a child and said, "It’s really, really cool to think about how one of those kids turned out to be Caitlin Clark.”

It was special for Maya to see what an inspiration she was and is, as LeBron and others really only pointed out the obvious. That Moore belongs beside any of the legends of the game.
