The US women's national basketball team secured their eighth consecutive gold medal by the skin of their teeth on Sunday, defeating France 67-66.

Per usual, Las Vegas Aces superstar forward A'ja Wilson was sensational for Team USA. She finished the game with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks in 33 minutes played in the gold medal game.

This incredible performance (combined with her averaging 18.7 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks over six Paris Olympics games) earned her the Paris 2024 Olympics women’s basketball tournament MVP award.

But a postgame exchange between her and Miami Heat/Team USA player Bam Adebayo is what fans are still talking about.

After Team USA won on Sunday, cameras caught Wilson and Adebayo (who was sitting courtside at the gold medal game) sharing a secret handshake and prolonged glance at each other.

One X user reposted their exchange and added the caption, "Man I’m sick of A’ja & Bam acting like we don’t know," with a few different emojis.

The post has over 1.3 million views in less than four hours.

There has been much speculation over the past few months that Wilson and Adebayo are dating, as they've been spotted together off the court on multiple occasions.

But because neither of them has confirmed this suspected relationship, fans are left to inspect any evidence that the 2024 gold medalists may be more than friends.

Another X user went viral for writing, "A’ja dapping up Bam after the game like they’re just homies is always hilarious," which has over 43,000 views in three hours.

Perhaps fans will never get confirmation that Wilson and Adebayo are more than friends plus USA basketball peers. But what's for sure is that both basketball icons have a lot to celebrate in Paris tonight after securing gold medals this weekend.
