The US women's national basketball team just defeated France by a score of 67-66 to secure their eighth consecutive Olympics gold medal.

Very few people predicted that Team USA would be pushed to the absolute brink against France. Despite being on upset watch throughout the entire affair, the American women ultimately pulled through and are now Paris 2024 Olympics gold medalists.

And they almost surely would not have done so if not for Kahleah Copper.

Copper, who is a Phoenix Mercury star guard and the 2021 WNBA Finals MVP, finished Team USA's gold medal game with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

Copper had been relegated to a role off the bench for Team USA throughout these Olympics. In fact, she didn't receive any minutes during the US squad's group stage game against Belgium.

But Copper has created a reputation for herself for performing best when the lights are brightest. And that's exactly what she did once again on Sunday.

Now she's a gold medalist because of it.

Multiple WNBA standouts are making their awe for Copper clear in the aftermath of Team USA's stress-inducing Olympics win.

During her postgame interview, A'ja Wilson referred to Copper as "that b****," when asked how to describe Copper's performance against France.

And Indiana Fever superstar Aliyah Boston wrote, "Kah is a true game changer," on X Sunday, along with two star-eye emojis and one fire emoji.

Fans have been discussing Boston's Indiana Fever teammate Caitlin Clark's snub from the Olympics roster for months.

While that discourse will not die down, Copper's heroic performance on Sunday ensured that Team USA secured yet another Olympics gold medal.
