A'ja Wilson Loves Aces Rookie Kate Martin

Las Vegas Aces superstar A'ja Wilson takes any chance she can get to shout out rookie Kate Martin. The latest example being an Instagram story Wilson posted of a side-by-side between the two noting that they both are always yelling on the court. That of course is not the first time A'ja has yelled to show her support to the first-year player out of Iowa.

Wilson also previously put together a surprise birthday presentation for Caitlin Clark's former Hawkeyes teammate last month. Which led to Aces coach Becky Hammon saying that's just who Wilson is.

Of course the praise has gone both ways, as Martin notably dubbed A'ja the best leader she has been around during a post game presser. “I’m sitting next to the best player in the world. And not only is she the best player in the world, she’s the best leader I’ve ever been around."

Martin has been a contributor for the defending champs, playing meaningful minutes for the team despite being drafted in the second round. And it appears that A'ja believes Kate could play a crucial role going forward. Wilson recently said this about the rookie following a loss to the Los Angeles Sparks. “I love particularly for Kate to be in these situations, so when October rolls around, it’s not a punch in the face. It’s familiar.”

A'ja seems to believe her and Kate will both be yelling on the floor together in the postseason, as the Aces attempt to repeat as WNBA champions. Again.
