Angel Reese Breaks WNBA Double-Double Record!

Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

Angel Reese is a double-double machine and the Chicago Sky rookie passed the legendary Candace Parker for most consecutive double-doubles in a single season in WNBA history. The Minnesota Lynx defeated the Chicago Sky but Reese finished with 10 points and 17 rebounds in the contest, her 10th consecutive double-double.

Reese now leads the entire WNBA in total rebounds and rebounds per game, passing Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson. Reese gobbled up boards per usual as her motor never stops. Hence why she famously referred to herself as a dog after last week's win against the Indiana Fever.

Angel struggled mightily from the floor against the Lynx however, shooting just 4-17 from the floor. But she was able to get into double figures in points at the very end of the game. Reese made history with her mom in attendance, sinking a free throw in the waning moments of the contest.

Finishing around the basket has been the biggest hurdle for Angel early in her career given how productive she has been on the glass. But she has still been able to consistently score in double figures in part due to her relentless pursuit of the basketball.

It remains to be seen where the achievement will place Reese in the WNBA Rookie of the Year race, but one thing is for certain, the Barbie out of LSU is going to make her mark on the box score. With double figures in points and rebounds becoming the norm for the Sky star.
