Angel Reese Brought to Tears By Making WNBA All-Star Team

Angel Reese has already accomplished a lot in her young WNBA career. She leads the league in rebounds and set the record for most consecutive double-doubles in a single season. Which helped the Chicago Sky star win Rookie of the Month for June.

But despite all that and winning a national championship at LSU, the magnitude of being selected as an All-Star clearly had significant meaning to Reese, who was moved to tears following the news.

"I'm just so happy. I know the work I put in. Coming into this league so many people doubted me and didn't think my game would translate. And I wouldn't be the player I was in college." Reese added that she felt fortunate to fall to seventh in the draft and land in the situation she did, expressing gratitude to her Sky teammates and coaches. Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon was extremely proud of her player saying, "I have a little All-Star".

Reese will find herself in a unique situation when she takes the floor in Phoenix because when she lines up alongside her fellow All-Stars, one of them will be another rookie in Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever star and Reese will be teammates for the festivities, the first time two rookies have been selected together in a decade.

Angel had another busy night on the boards before the All-Star rosters were announced, as she recorded her 11th consecutive double-double with 12 points and 17 rebounds in a Chicago victory over the Atlanta Dream.
