Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese was quick to defend her coach Teresa Weatherspoon. There had been some criticism amongst Sky fans about playing time for Reese's fellow rookie Kamilla Cardoso, as Cardoso logged just 20 minutes in the team's loss against the Seattle Storm. Something Weatherspoon was asked about in the post game press conference.

Weatherspoon stated that nothing was wrong with Cardoso and it was a coach's decision why she wasn't on the floor more. Though Kamilla's absence was noted by Storm coach Noelle Quinn, who credited her not being on the court for the rebounding difference in this contest versus the previous one between these two teams. Quinn remarked, "Kamilla only played 20 minutes. She was out a little bit more" when answering a question about how the squads did on the boards.

There must have been enough blowback from Sky fans for Reese to react, because Angel posted a message strongly in support of her coach. "One thing I don’t play about is T-Spoon so let’s not even try it. that’s one thing i don’t tolerate like at all."

Reese and Weatherspoon have obviously formed a strong bond, which makes sense given what the first-year player out of LSU has been able to accomplish. With Weatherspoon previously proudly acknowledging the selection of her player as a WNBA All-Star. Still, it must be nice for the Sky coach to know no matter how the wind blows in the Windy City, Barbie is always going to have her back.
