Arike Ogunbowale Praised 'Hooper' Caitlin Clark

Arike Ogunbowale and Caitlin Clark were both arguably snubbed from the Team USA squad playing in the Olympics in Paris. But it wasn't any mutual motivation behind not being a part of that roster that led to some bonding between them at the WNBA All-Star festivities, it was their respective games. Ogunbowale was of course MVP of the contest in dropping a record 34-points in the second half. While Clark led the exhibition in assists. The two even shared a moment on the broadcast with Clark dubbing the Dallas Wings star the best one-on-one player in the league and Arike responding in kind, “I appreciate that. I love her game too, so that's what's up.”

Ogunbowale was since asked about the Indiana Fever rookie in an interview with ESPN and had this to say. "I've been a fan of her since she's been in college...we exchanged while she was in college...I just love hoopers. You guys obviously see my game and I see a lot of similarities. She knows how to get a bucket. She can create for herself. She can create for her teammates. I just love her game. It's fun playing against her, she brings a crowd every time. So I'm definitely gonna show up. But playing with her I got to pick her brain a little bit and see how she thinks...that's dope of her to show that praise on TV...she's one of my favorite players in the league as well."

The admiration clearly goes both ways between the two All-Stars, who will surely be on the floor again together in that forum in the future, and perhaps down the line as Olympians as well.
