Caitlin Clark Calls Facing Diana Taurasi 'Dream Come True'

Caitlin Clark was much more long-winded than Diana Taurasi was when discussing the pair's first-ever matchup. The Indiana Fever rookie will share the court with the WNBA legend when the Fever square off with the Phoenix Mercury Sunday.

While Taurasi simply stated that the showdown would be fun, Clark went into detail about it means to her. "That's somebody I grew up idolizing...looking up to and wanting to be some day. Obviously she's one of the greatest players our game has ever seen, the greatest scorer our game has ever seen..."

"It's kind of like a dream come true."

Caitlin even credited Diana as her first memory of the WNBA. The 20-year-veteran Taurasi had of course famously expressed previously how Clark would face an adjustment entering the pros, and what it has taken to adapt is something CC was also asked to address.

“I feel like I’ve learned a lot over the course of whatever it’s been, two months?" Clark discussed how the game is played in a different way than it was when she was at college in Iowa singling out the faster pace and tough defense. Before adding, "I think there’s still so much for me to learn, and that’s what’s exciting for myself."

Caitlin said there will be no extra chip on her shoulder when she goes up against Taurasi given she comes into every game expecting to win and compete at the highest level. Clark is certainly playing at a high level as she is off to a historic start to her career in the W thus far.
