Caitlin Clark Debuted Nike Kobe Shoes at Fever Practice

Caitlin Clark has made it clear that she is a big Kobe Bryant fan. The Indiana Fever rookie now has her own version of his shoes as well. Clark revealed her first Nike Kobe 5 Protro PEโ€™s during a team practice. Caitlin is of course set to get her own signature sneakers from the sports apparel giant, but in the meantime she will continue to rock kicks inspired by Bryant.

Clark remarked about the color scheme on the Player Exclusive, saying black and yellow is her favorite combination, and also stating the sneaks feel like a combination of Fever and Iowa. She added that they are similar to the Bruce Lee's that she often wears, a previous edition of Kobe's that she has expressed her affinity for in the past, while also giving a nod to Mamba Mentality. "Everybody knows the Bruce Lee's are my babies...I guess that's just the mentality you have to have as a competitor. You want those moments. You embrace those moments."

Clark hinted at having another pair on the way that fans would see her rock later on, but watching her hoop in Kobe's is far from an unfamiliar sight. CC sported Bryant's shoes in breaking the NCAA scoring record and at the All-Star Game, amongst many other instances.

Of course anticipation for Clark's own signature shoe from Nike remains high. She signed an endorsement deal with the company that was worth a reported $28 million before the WNBA season even started. And if the massive numbers the W has seen since her arrival are an indication, any shoes Clark is associated with will fly off the shelves.
