Caitlin Clark Doesn't View Angel Reese Matchup as Rivalry

IndyStar-USA TODAY Sports

Caitlin Clark believes the Indiana Fever playing Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky is just another game. Clark addressed the looming third matchup between the two teams following a Fever win over the Atlanta Dream stating

'I'm pretty sure that the only people who view this as a rivalry is all of you"

to the assembled media asking questions to her, head coach Christie Sides, and teammate NaLyssa Smith.

She added that to them it is just the game of basketball but was clear to also say if it helps grow the game that is amazing and she is all for people talking about it.

The looming showdown is the most expensive ticket in WNBA history and of course there is a long history of highly discussed contests between Clark and Reese going back to their days at Iowa and LSU respectively.

The Fever are 2-0 on the season against the Sky and enter on a roll, having won four straight games. They possess the league's best offense during the stretch, which is in stark contrast to the struggles they experienced early in Clark's inaugural campaign.

Meanwhile Reese is coming off a performance that saw her break the league record for most consecutive double-doubles by a rookie. The Sky snapped a four-game skid against the Dallas Wings and hope to starting a winning streak of their own Sunday.

Here's a look at how the two size up statistically ahead of what is sure to be the most hyped game of the season in the WNBA, again.
