Caitlin Clark Is Off to Historic WNBA Start!

Caitlin Clark may have been frustrated following the Indiana Fever's loss to the Seattle Storm, but despite any struggles so far this season, her stat line has still been historic. Clark became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 300+ points, 100+ rebounds, and 100+ assists. That despite taking only nine shots against Seattle.

Fever head coach Christie Sides would like to see Caitlin's point total be even higher, as Sides stated that she wants to see Clark shoot more. "Caitlin Clark needs to shoot at minimum 15 shots a game for us. She's gotta get shots, we got to do a better job of setting her up and setting some really good screens for her to get her open."

As is, Clark is top 20 in the entire league in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. Her 6.6 assists per game are good enough for fourth overall and she also has more three-pointers made than anyone else in the WNBA. Caitlin lamented the lack of advice she has received from veterans in the W, but seems to be doing just fine on her own.

Clark's gaudy numbers actually stack up well with Diana Taurasi's rookie season, and of course CC and Taurasi will meet for the first time when the Fever face the Phoenix Mercury Sunday. When asked about that looming matchup the WNBA legend did not have much to say. But Taurasi's words did likely mimic what every basketball fan was already thinking.

"It'll be fun."
