The US women's national basketball team is currently facing France for the gold medal at the Paris Olympics.

While the US entered this gold medal match as a 15.5-point favorite and had a -1400 moneyline to win, the game was tied at halftime and Team USA held on to a two-point lead at the end of the third quarter.

With Team USA on upset watch during the fourth quarter, many fans on social media are once again talking about Caitlin Clark, who was notoriously snubbed from the Paris 2024 Olympics roster.

"Women’s team needs to get it together because I simply cannot take all the Caitlin Clark takes if they lose," one X user wrote during Sunday's game.

"If the US loses this game, Caitlin Clark fans will be insufferable. I think they win will and I really don’t think CC helps this team much but that wouldn’t stop the crazy takes from happening," added another user.

The triple threat of A'ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, and Brittney Griner at forward/center for Team USA has been dominant throughout these Olympics. But Team USA guard play (especially from veterans Diana Taurasi and Chelsea Gray) has been underwhelming for large periods of the Paris Olympics.

"If USA wins, they walk away Olympic gold medalists.

"If USA loses, they settle for silver, and we’ll spend the next 4 years hearing how Caitlin Clark would’ve won it," an X user claimed.

Another viral X post is bringing Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese into the equation by saying, "Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark watching team USA women’s basketball score 25 points at halftime vs France in the gold medal game," with a video of sports media personality Shannon Sharpe on the set of Undisputed.

Team USA may still very well win gold on Sunday. But their gold medal game vs. France being as close as it is will keep Clark's Olympics snub in the conversation for some time.
