Chennedy Carter Touted Sky Teammate Angel Reese for Rookie of Year

Chennedy Carter and Angel Reese are forming quite the formidable duo for the Chicago Sky. Carter lit up the Seattle Storm for 33 points, while her teammate added a career-high 27 to go with 10 rebounds. The latter's performance inspiring the former to make Reese's WNBA Rookie of the Year case.

"Barbie's Rookie of the Year. There's no other way to put it. She goes out, she does her work, every single night. No matter what team we're facing. I'm telling you, Barbie's Rookie of the Year for sure."

The compliments did not just go in one direction, as Reese lamented Carter not making the All-Star team in the post game press conference while answering questions alongside Chennedy and head coach Teresa Weatherspoon. Weatherspoon proclaimed Angel's All-Star status and Reese followed it up by saying, "This is an All-Star. This should've been an All-Star," as she pointed at Carter.

Carter has stood out for Chicago since being moved into the starting lineup and Reese has been a consistent force as a walking double-double all season. The win over Seattle was also noteworthy given it saw Angel hit her first two career threes in the contest.

As far as Rookie of the Year goes, that is a conversation likely to continue all season. Angel is stating her case with her performance on the court and she has support from some in the media as well. Not to mention the backing of her teammate in Carter, affectionately known as the Chen to her Barbie.
