Chicago Sky to Build $38 Million Practice Facility

Things are looking up for the Chicago Sky. Not only does the team have a rising superstar in rookie Angel Reese, but they are about to break ground on a brand new state of the art practice facility. The franchise announced its plans to construct the $38 million facility in partnership with the Village of Bedford Park and the building should be up in time for the 2026 WNBA season.

The practice venue will be located next to Wintrust Sports Complex and is set to feature amenities aplenty. Plans call for two regulation courts, a private chef's kitchen, beauty stations, a content studio, player lounges, a training room, and a film room. The performance center is listed to be over 40,000 square feet. It will serve as a huge upgrade for the team not only in what will be available, but given they currently practice 30 miles from Wintrust Arena, where they play home games.

Nadia Rawlinson, Chicago Sky Co-Owner and Operating Chairman had this to say about what is to come. “We could not be more excited to announce a practice facility that will raise the bar on athletic performance, set the standard for player amenities, and support our players with exceptional resources built exclusively for them. Living in downtown Chicago will also give Sky players the opportunity to experience all of the benefits of our world class city. We thank Bedford Park who stepped up to be part of the first of its kind public-private partnership for a WNBA practice facility and to bring this transformational vision to life.”

This is just the latest news in a long line of positives for the league, which is fresh off record All-Star ratings and a brand new media rights deal. It's safe to say everyone involved with the Sky should be happy about the announcement, with Reese probably smiling all the way from Paris.
