Diana Taurasi Gave Epic Quote About 2028 Olympics

When it comes to USA basketball two players at this Olympics stand above all when it comes to longevity. LeBron James on the men's side and Diana Taurasi for the women. Taurasi, a 20-year veteran, will be going for a record sixth gold medal in Paris. But according to the Phoenix Mercury legend, 2028 is off the table.

Here is what Taurasi said about the idea of playing when the next Olympics from Los Angeles roll around. "Yeah, you're gonna see me in L.A. on the beach with a beer." DT is no stranger to great one-liners as she had a similarly sharp comment when discussing her fit at the WNBA All-Star Game.

Of course before Taurasi can relax, this current women's Olympic team has the task at hand. The squad was notably defeated by the WNBA All-Star team in a glimpse of what the future of USA basketball could look like. That included the rookie connection between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese of the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky. Reese even noted how she was looking forward to teaming up with Clark at the Olympics during the broadcast.

However, until then it will be Taurasi and company. And despite being 42-years-old, Taurasi is still producing at a high level. Diana is averaging 16.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for Phoenix this season. She and the rest of Team USA will look to bounce back from the All-Star loss and once again bring another women's basketball gold home to the states when the games commence.
