Caitlin Clark not being selected by the US Women's National Basketball Team to compete in the Olympics is the conversation that will never go away. The latest evidence of that came from Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green. Green explained on his podcast with The Volume why he believes the Indiana Fever rookie should have been a part of Team USA.

"I think Caitlin Clark should've been on the USA team...it's great for the brand. We talk brand any other time, let's not act like it don't matter now...If you think about what the 1992 Barcelona Dream Team did for the brand of basketball, the W is still in those phases of the NBA...so it must be about spreading this globally and she's the biggest global star in women's basketball."

Green went on to praise A'ja Wilson's on court prowess while once again emphasizing how Clark is the biggest star in the WNBA. Baron Davis, who joined Draymond in the clip, agreed with Green and added that he thinks Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese should have also been part of the roster. Which led to the four-time NBA champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist to shift the argument to on court matters.

"What they showed you in this half a season is that I'm gonna be one of them ones. So it's ok to bet on me right now because I'm gonna be one of them ones." That before pointing out the historic rebounding and assist totals that Reese and Clark have put up in their respective young professional careers.

Angel is just below A'ja for the league lead in rebounds, while Clark does indeed lead the WNBA in assists and is pacing to break the record for total dimes in a season. Caitlin is actually in the top 25 in points, rebounds, assists blocks and steals; making any basketball justification for keeping her off rather silly at this juncture.

Obviously any omission has not hindered the women's chances of winning yet another gold thus far, but it certainly has continued to get a lot of attention, while perhaps causing the USA team that is in Paris to get less coverage.

Maybe another gold will silence some of the noise, especially given the Olympics are almost at and end. However, at this point it seems the talk around Clark not being selected could be endless.
