Fever Coach Christie Sides Says Caitlin Clark Needs to Shoot More

Indiana Fever coach Christie Sides repeated a familiar message, Caitlin Clark needs to shoot more. Following the team's loss to the Seattle Storm, Sides reiterated a version of what she said after the game against the Chicago Sky as well.

"Caitlin Clark needs to shoot at minimum 15 shots a game for us. She's gotta get shots, we got to do a better job of setting her up and setting some really good screens for her to get her open." This coming on the heels of Sides stating Clark has the green light following the showdown with Angel Reese and the Sky.

The Fever coach was clear to emphasize that this responsibility does not all fall on Clark adding that the team as a whole needs to help get her open due to the extra defensive attention the rookie receives. Sides also praised Clark's passing prowess and said her teammates need to make sure they capitalize on the opportunities that are created as a result.

Regardless of the number of field goal attempts she has taken, Clark is still off to a historic start in the WNBA becoming the fastest player to ever total 300+ points, 100+ rebounds, and 100+ assists. She also leads the league in three-pointers made so far this year.

Caitlin will get a chance to hit her coach's benchmark when the Fever take on Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury, in what is yet another highly anticipated matchup for Clark and Indiana in her first WNBA season.
