Caitlin Clark Laments Lack of Advice From WNBA Vets

Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark may have been at her most frustrated following the team's loss to the Seattle Storm. Not only did she demand the media ask Aliyah Boston a question, after none were directed to her teammate several minutes into the post game press conference. But she also seemed to lament the lack of advice she receives out on the floor.

Clark was asked, "What's the best advice a vet has given you in-game this season?". She replied,

"Nobody gives me advice in-game, I wish."

Perhaps a season's worth of frustration boiled over following the loss to the Storm, as Caitlin has been through a whirlwind since entering the WNBA. The answer above was in response to a specific ask about veterans but there is no doubt the manner in which Clark responded will have many wondering if there are other underlying issues.

To her credit, Boston has been vocal in trying to connect with her teammate this season. But given she is in just her second year, Aliyah doesn't qualify as a vet if Caitlin was indeed responding to the specific question. It's also likely Clark was referring to opposing players and not teammates.

Clark's coach Christie Sides did offer her young star advice after the game, publicly, as she has done many times this season. Sides said that the rookie is not getting enough shots and would like to see her put up more field goal attempts, setting a minimum number of 15.

Sides, who has gotten plenty of scrutiny, did credit Clark for getting her teammates good looks and mentioned how she is the focus of extra attention from opposing defenses. Attention is obviously something CC has received plenty of, and perhaps it is getting to her a bit.
