Indiana Fever Guard Erica Wheeler Has WNBA All-Star Flight Troubles

Indiana Fever guard Erica Wheeler is having flight troubles, along with so many others in the midst of the global IT outage. Wheeler is scheduled to participate in the WNBA All-Star Skills Competition but her arrival in Phoenix is in question. Erica took to social media to detail her travel issues, first noting that her plane was delayed and then eventually canceled altogether. She added that her private jet connection was also not available and she has no way to make it in time to compete. Erica expressed how she was particularly bummed about the situation since a $55,000 prize was recently announced for the winner through an Aflac sponsorship.

With Wheeler's status for the event in serious doubt fans responded to her posts tagging Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay and Phoenix Suns governor Matt Ishbia hoping they could perhaps be of assistance given the extensive resources at their disposal. Wheeler had been scheduled to take on Marina Mabrey of the Connecticut Sun, Allisha Gray of the Atlanta Dream, and both Brittney Griner and Sophie Cunningham of the Phoenix Mercury for skills supremacy.

Wheeler's teammates, All-Stars Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell are already in Phoenix for the festivities. They will be part of Team WNBA and will attempt to take down Team USA and the roster heading to the Olympics in Paris. Clark will also notably be on the same squad as fellow rookie Angel Reese of Chicago Sky during the game in addition to her Fever mates. So it should be an eventful weekend for those involved, even if Wheeler is unfortunately unable to make it.
