Los Angeles Sparks Share Photo of Cameron Brink Without Knee Brace
Cameron Brink looks to be healing up well. The Los Angeles Sparks rookie suffered a torn ACL against the Minnesota Lynx on June 18th and recently underwent surgery. Which she responded to with a positive attitude. But the team itself posted a photo of Brink styling without a brace ahead of its game with the Las Vegas Aces, less than two weeks since her procedure.
Brink was seen smiling and wearing boots in what appeared to be a brand deal shoot of some sort. The Sparks also shared a photo of Brink's rookie teammate Rickea Jackson in a similar post.
Obviously a single still shot is not an indication of exactly where Brink is in her rehabilitation process, especially since she later had a brace on while sitting with the team on the bench. But her spirit has always seemed high amidst the disappointment of the injury. She shared this message to Instagram shortly after going down. "This is hard to fathom but I know it will only make me stronger. I will not be derailed and I will continue to love this life—I'm not defined by basketball, but it's something that I love deeply and I will work everyday to get back to it."
Brink received an outpouring of support from her peers and was recently on the receiving end of praise from reigning league MVP and New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart. Stewie credited Cam for her ability to stuff the stat sheet.
Though it may still be a while before we see Brink do her thing on the court again, the injury apparently has not hurt her fit game.
